Quaturn operating cartridges open and close with a quarter turn. Exposed cap faucets include No's. 444, 305, 700. While concealed caps are found on faucets such as No's. 746, 404, 200.

Note that left hand cartridges are used on both hot and cold water sides when handle No's. 633, 643, 500, 950, 2000, or 204 are used. Right and left cartridges are used when lever handle No's. 369, 370, 1000, 317, 320 and 319 are used.

Slow compression operating cartridges are used where finer adjustment of water temperature and volume is required, such as for shower fittings and laboratory fittings. Slow compression cartridges require approximately one full turn to open and close completely.
